TRANSFER, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Robert H. Pinch, Sr., 77, formerly of Sharon, passed away Saturday evening, September 24, 2022, in his home.

Mr. Pinch was born January 30, 1945, in Sharon, a son of the late Herbert Pinch and Mary (Schuttleworth) Pinch Bee.

He was a 1964 graduate of Sharon High School.

Robert honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force, spending more than 29 years in the reserves.

He was employed for more than 25 years in the 60-inch Coil Rolling Department of Sharon Steel’s former Farrell plant.

Robert was a member of the Covenant Church, Sharon.

He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 299, Sharon.

He took pride in his community and was honored to assist the youth as a basketball instructor and help at the Columbia Theatre in downtown Sharon. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.

His wife, the former Margaret “Peggy” Walters, whom he married on November 11, 1967, passed away on January 2, 2018.

He is survived by a son, David S. Pinch of Transfer; two sisters, Marylou Zampedro and her husband, Zam, of Warren, Ohio and Barbara Meyers of Kansas; a half-brother, Kenny Bee of Warren, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kayla Johnson (Jake) of Greenville, Justin Pinch of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Troy Pinch (Tabitha) and Geof Pinch, all of Greenville and six great-grandchildren, Maddie, Dylan, Alec, Carol Ann, Bailey and Jakob.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Robert H. Pinch, Jr. and a brother, John “Jack” Pinch.

A graveside service and military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022 in Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage, with Rev. Rick Stauffer, officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Wheatland, Farrell and West Middlesex Honor Guard.
